Funky, then floral, then herbal, then savory, then tangy. There is a lot going on here.
This ‘Heaven and Earth’ red is a 50/50 split between the Austrian native variety Zweigelt and the French-born Cabernet Sauvignon. The gravelly schist soils east of Lake Neusiedlersee impart a ruggedness and earthiness to the wine which lends great throaty bass notes to the bright cherry and red currant flavors that shine in this cuveé.
It's a wild unfettered red from a boundary-pushing Austrian producer.
