Little Sumo is a Junmai Genshu sake, made from pure rice, water, koji & yeast and left undiluted to make a stout 18% ABV sake. It is a harmonious balance of sweet and dry, with elements of fruit and a nuttiness. Aromas of melon and plum, and a rich texture with flavors of Asian pear and almonds.

Nigori. Unfiltered and creamy with a sweet, rich character.

Japan > Ibaraki. Brewed at Huchu Homare (est. 1854) using the ancient Watari Bune rice — a parent strain of Yamada Nishiki, revived from seed after going extinct for 60 years. Polished to 55%. Ripe pineapple, melon, banana, bright acidity, delicate effervescence. A piece of sake history in the glass.

Japanese Sake

Junmai Daiginjo. Highly polished rice. Elegant, fruity, and refined.

The nose on this inspired brew has a cool collection of peach, honeycomb, melon, pear, nectarine, rock sugar, and clove aromas. The importer calls this Junmai “robust, bold, and inspired,” and what’s so unique is that this drinks buoyant and light for so much feeling and flavor.  This brew is a great example of sake brewing technique that takes a big Junmai and brightens it up for a modern drinking experience.
