Brandy

Cognac is a variety of distilled brandy (alcoholic beverage) named after the town of Cognac in France

It is produced in the wine-growing region surrounding the town from which it takes its name

French Cognac. Grape spirit aged in oak. Fruit, vanilla, and warm spice with a smooth finish.

France > Cognac. VSOP Cognac (minimum 4 years in French oak) made from Ugni Blanc. Honeyed apricot, vanilla, toasted almond, baking spice. A soft, balanced everyday Cognac — on the rocks or in a sidecar.

France > Normandy > Domfrontais. Calvados distilled from 70% pears and 30% apples (the Domfrontais style), aged in used oak barrels. Baked pear, orchard apple, vanilla, warm spice. The gateway Calvados, and a great one.

Fine rancio note on the nose, along with hints of honey, coffee, and spice.

Soft and sweet in the mouth, with excellent length.

A long tradition in Gascony, plum brandy is distilled in the Armagnac method then aged for 3–4 years in Limousine oak. Boisterous fruit and esters burst off the nose with vibrant oxidation and notes of rich, nutty marzipan from the plum pits. The palate is deep and oaky, full of raisins and—you guessed it—prunes. Curious and delicious! A gem for all spirit geeks.
