The Bea family has been farming the bucolic hills of Umbria since at least 1500, raising animals & growing grains, olives, and (of course) wine grapes. Paolo was the first to give the Sagrantino grape international acclaim, and his sons Giuseppe & Giampiero continue the family tradition with a multitude of world class releases. The Pagliaro Vineyard is home to their finest Sagrantino grapes, and the Beas macerate the skins and juice together for 50 days in order to produce a tooth-staining, ruggedly tannic wine that is meant to be aged at least 2 decades after harvest. For the patience-deprived among us, give it a spin in the decanter for a few hours and serve to your closest friends next to your favorite cut of beef.
